The Fundamentals of Earthmoving course consists of 80 hours of classroom instruction and 160 hours of field training.

Module 1 – Introduction to Operating  ( 18 Hours )
Module 2 – Machine Types, Components and Systems  ( 14 Hours )
Module 3 – Earthmoving Equipment Operations ( 20 Hours ) 
Module 4 – Transporting Heavy Equipment ( 12 Hours ) 
Module 5 – Equipment Maintenance ( 16 Hours )

Field – 160 Hours

Module 1 – Bulldozer ( 50 Hours )

  • Pre Ops (checks/warm-up/walk arounds) ( 4 hours )
  • Post Ops (shutdown/grease/clean) ( 4 hours )
  • Safe Earthmoving Procedures ( 7 hours )
  • Field Exercises (Hands-on) ( 30 hours )
  • Testing  (5 hours )

Module 2 – Excavator ( 60 Hours )

  • Pre Ops (checks/warm-up/walk arounds) ( 5 hours )
  • Post Ops (shutdown/grease/clean) ( 5 hours )
  • Safe Earthmoving Procedures ( 10 hours )
  • Field Exercises (Hands-on) ( 35 hours )
  • Testing ( 5 hours )

Module 3 – Tractor/Loader/Backhoe ( 50 Hours )

  • Pre Ops (checks/warm-up/walk arounds) ( 4 hours )
